a dreamy weekend getaway

Last week was one of those weeks for us.
Night classes, town hall meetings, and work activities
made it so there was little (if any) time together the week (and day) of Valentines.
But a long weekend was coming, and luckily there was some light at the end of our dark tunnel.
This year, we were lucky enough to spend our long weekend at the beach with my family.
There were hugs and kisses and cuddles galore.
What a way to celebrate Valentines weekend, huh?

The central CA coast doesn't always get the credit it deserves,
but it truly is one of my favorite places on earth.
And I'm telling you,  it really outdid itself this weekend.
It was quiet and calm despite the holiday,
and there were two seals that play in the bay every morning.
Did I mention 10 dolphins who cruised on by while we were making dinner?
Can I go back already?

We fell asleep and woke up to the sound of the ocean.
We watched movies and ate pancakes and fresh fruit, and had friends over for dinner.
We took walks on the beach and played with babies in the sand.
We worried about nothing and ate everything.
This weekend was an absolute dream.
